LOVE ON THE BRAIN
THREE-WAY MUSICAL EXPLORATION OF THE EFFECTS OF LOVE, CABARET STYLE.
FRIDAY, JUL 14 @ 7PM ~SOLD OUT~
FRIDAY, JUL 14 @ 9PM
We are restless, uncomfortable, can’t sleep; we break out in a fierce sweat. Is it the heat of Arizona summer or LOVE ON THE BRAIN? In mid-July it may be hard to tell. Come inside, forget the triple-digits, and consider the effects of LOVE on the brain. Our cabaret-style set list looks at the emotions and disturbances attributed to LOVE, ranging from joy to mania, heartache to heartbreak via soul, pop, rock, old and new. Love is the energy which promotes life; no wonder we are obsessed with it.
Brian Sweis, Lisa Fogel, and Adam Vargas are local artists and friends who have crossed paths on and off stage for many years. Most recently, they were featured in the valley’s longest-running Christmas Cabaret and decided to keep harmonizing together.
Brian is an established voice over artist and founding member of Partners That Heal, utilizing his improv skills to entertain and comfort patients and families at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He has performed all over the valley including the world premiere of When You Wish: The Story of Walt Disney and Les Miserables at Phoenix Theatre and rocked it out in Angry Housewives at Arizona Broadway Theatre.
Lisa, a character actress, has been seen as Patsy Cline in Always Patsy Cline, Fantine in Les Miserables, and a multitude of characters in children’s theatre and musical theatre. As a vocalist, she sang with an ’80’s cover band and has performed all sorts of vocal stylings including jazz, rock, blues across the country.
Adam loves to sing. He loves performing in musicals, concerts and cabarets. He has performed all over the U.S. (and Canada too) in the national tour of Crazy For You. Locally, you may have seen him on the stages of Phoenix Theatre, Arizona Broadway Theatre and Musical Theatre of Anthem, to name a few.
