Award-winning songwriter Eric Ramsey is, among other things, a two-time champion of the Phoenix Blues Society’s Blues Showdown, a two-time featured artist at the Dripping Springs (TX) Songwriter Festival, Finalist of the Telluride (CO) Blues Challenge He has performed at International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. Eric is a past winner of the Stefan George Memorial (Tucson Folk Festival) Songwriting Competition, and has been tapped for the prestigious Songwriter’s Showcase produced by Tempe Center for the Arts, filmed for PBS distribution.
Eric is a favorite on the Folk and Blues Festival circuits, not only for his dynamic performances but for his open tuning and slide guitar workshops. With soaring vocals and organic arrangements, Eric writes from experience about the human condition – at times sensitive, at times humorous, always thought-provoking. His arrangements and delivery encompass a spectrum of styles, from delicate fingerpicking to raucous, bluesy bottleneck slide.
Adam Smith is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist who grew up in the mountains of Southeast Kentucky. He began writing songs in his early teens upon hearing Joni Mitchell’s album “Blue” which he says changed his life forever. He has since released three full-length studio albums and toured the United States, bringing his unique sound to a growing number of loyal fans. Adam now resides in Phoenix AZ and is working on a brand-new project which can be expected to release this year. www.adamsmithmusicart.com
Tom is a storyteller. He will make you laugh, make you cry and make you think with his lyrics. His voice is similar to the style of Garth Brooks. His music is influenced by Garth and James Taylor. He is so excited to play on the same stage as Aaron and Sarah. He says “The best concert I’ve ever seen anywhere was at the Listening Room at Aaron Howard’s show, and now I’m performing with him. That will be a great time”. He talks with the audience and creates a fun, party-like environment. This is a rare opportunity to hear Tom play, because he rarely plays in public. His first show at The Listening Room was standing room only.
Indie-folk trio with Phoenix, Nashville and St. Luis roots, living on a full-time tour. Singer-songwriters Edward Williams and Ashley Norton threw their belongings into storage three years ago and never looked back. Now with violinist Stephanie Groot, they are returning from their 6-week European tour, sponsored by Subaru Europe. Comparable to a modern-day Simon & Garfunkel or The Civil Wars and full of harmony and intricate songwriting. They’re currently working on their 6th studio release along with a plethora of unique music videos.
Carol Pacey & The Honey Shakers
Never a dull moment in the lives of this uniquely tuned group, Carol Pacey & the Honey Shakers and their Upbeat Brand of All-Original Rock & Roll can be found all over the Phoenix metro area, from coffee shops to weekend music concert venues. Lead singer/songwriter, Carol Pacey describes their success in Arizona, “Our music is what music used to be like here in Tempe, when the Refreshments and the Dead Hot Workshop owned this town, albeit with a female up front doing the singing!” And Carol really peels the paint off the walls with her strong and passionate presence in the group.
Rachel Mari Kimber
The very talented multi-instrumentalist and healer Rachel Mari Kimber has “an eclectic and classic songwriting style with hints of her many influences gracefully running through her music”. She has been likened to Joni Mitchell, Jewel, Edie Brikell and Alanis Morrisette, yet her idiosyncratic voice and quirks beautifully set her in a league of her own.
Rachel has two albums previously released by RMK Music (now re-released by Rachel Mari Kimber) and are available by contacting her through this site, or digital on CD baby. Both the acoustic album ‘A Drop In The Ocean’ and the band album ‘Life Changes Everything Changes..’ were recorded in Wales and features Rachel as co-Producer and multi-instrumentalist. ‘Life Changes Everything Changes..’ was co-produced and mixed in Los Angeles by John Brand.
Born into an Air Force family in Augusta Georgia, Peter spent the formative years of his life moving and living all over the U. S. and Europe. He speaks English, Swedish and German fluently. His parents retired in Rapid City South Dakota and shortly thereafter he was infected with rock n roll fever and became involved in the local music scene. His band Zulu caught the attention of talent scouts from Los Angeles, and Peter moved to LA where he shredded the Sunset Strip and beyond for the next 30 years, releasing numerous records and jamming with everyone from Billy Idol to Slash and Johnny Depp.
Peter also ended up owning his own Hollywood hot-spot Bar & Grill, Luna Park. After shuttering the Restaurant and amicably parting ways with his wife of 28 years, Peter recently moved to Scottsdale. He is in the process of bringing an exciting new restaurant concept to the Southwest, hopefully opening their first location in Scottsdale in early 2019. Peter loves to hike and has had a life-long love for Weimaraners. He continues to play his music professionally and can be seen performing around the greater Phoenix area!
Arizona Foothills Magazine called Michael Land ‘…a true inspiration’. Although not new to music scene, his latest album “Free Your Soul” demonstrates who he has truly become as an artist. Michael considers himself an all-around classy guy with his “suit and tie” kind of style, but loves to cut up with an audience during his shows. You’ll find him on Instagram posting pics of his family life paired with recently recorded music clips. If you’re lucky, you might even find him doing a celebrity impersonation or quoting famous movie lines when you interact with him. His YouTube channel is filled with original songs and favorite covers.
His Blue-Eyed soul sound and unique ability to make you feel like you know him within minutes make him an artist that you’ll want to keep an eye (and an ear) out for as he makes his way on the music scene. He has already made a name for himself as a world class vocalist in the State of Arizona, singing the National Anthem for the Arizona Diamondbacks, The Phoenix Suns, Barrett Jackson Car Auction and The House of Representatives at the Arizona State Capitol.
Michael began his love affair with music at 14 and was always drawn to the smooth sounds of soul music. Over the years, Michael excelled in his craft by learning piano and guitar along with growing and developing his vocal abilities.
While touring as a professional musician on a national level, and working as a live performer and entertainer, Michael began to feel like he was trying to be everything for everyone else. It was during this time that he began to dream and work towards pursuing a solo career and become the most genuine version of who he is as an artist.
Millie Gollinger Davis
Millie, affectionally known as “Aunt Millie”, is an RN Case Manager at Hospice of the Valley during the day and can be seen on many stages throughout Phoenix at night as she performs with a wide variety of local professional performers. Millie has a voice of an angel and the heart of 1,000 angels.
Laura is an NPR featured, nationally touring artist with an eclectic song list of award-winning original music and popular covers. Her soothing voice has been known to quell dark, angry bars full of ornery old Irishmen. With comparisons that range from Jewel to Natalie Merchant, Laura’s percussive finger picking and buoyant vocals have graced audiences from as far as the Sun Belt to the streets of Manhattan. Currently, she averages around 100 shows per year nationwide. She has opened for and shared stages with Greg Brown, Robbie Fulks, Miles Nielsen and The Rusted Hearts, and Restless Heart.
Mike has been singing as long as he’s been talking. Musical parents influenced Mike at an early age and by the time he was in grade school, he was already performing. By high school, he was entrenched in Rock ‘N Roll music and signed by a record label.
Mike’s road to Rock ‘N Roll stardom took a left-hand turn when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served a tour of duty in Viet Nam and then resumed a music career that led to a gig as a radio DJ and eventually into TV news anchoring. Mike has been performing professionally for almost 50 years, and continues to perform for the 55+ communities in the West and Southwest.
